Loans

Who can borrow with Credx?

Salary earners whose employer is on Credx. You sign up in the app, verify your identity with your BVN and NIN, and your employment is confirmed before your first loan. If your employer isn't on Credx yet, you can ask for it in the app and name someone in HR, finance or management for us to talk to.

How much can I borrow?

Your limit depends on your verified income, your employment, your repayment history and our credit assessment. Repaying on time builds your repayment history, which can qualify you for a higher limit over time. All loans are subject to approval.

How long can I borrow for?

Between 1 and 12 months. You choose the length when you apply, and the app shows the repayment schedule before you accept.

What does a loan cost?

Interest is set by the rate agreed between Credx and your employer, so everyone at your workplace gets the same fair rate. The interest amount, total repayment and every due date are shown in the app before you accept. See pricing and terms.

How fast do I get the money?

Once your loan is approved and you accept it, the money is paid into your Credx wallet. From there you can send it to any Nigerian bank account.

Why was my loan application declined?

Applications are assessed on your verified income, employment status, repayment history and our lending policy. Common reasons are incomplete verification, an outstanding loan, or a requested amount above your current limit. Contact support from the app and we'll tell you what you can do next.

Repayment

How do I repay?

Credx loans are payday loans: each repayment is due on your payday. Repayments are collected automatically from the account you authorise when you set up your loan. You can also repay early or manually from the app at any time.

What happens if I miss a repayment?

Nothing is charged for the first 7 days after a repayment is due. After that grace period, a small daily late charge is added until the repayment is made. The exact charge is shown on your loan summary before you accept the loan. If you're struggling to pay, talk to us in the app as early as you can.

Can I repay early?

Yes. You can make a repayment from the app before it's due.

Account and verification

Why do you need my BVN and NIN?

As a lender we must verify who you are. We use your BVN and NIN to confirm your identity and protect you from someone borrowing in your name. We never access your contacts, photos or messages.

How is my employment confirmed?

Depending on your employer, your HR team approves your request, or you connect your salary account securely, or you upload a recent bank statement for review. The app tells you which applies to you.

How do I delete my account?

You can request deletion from your profile in the app, or follow the steps on our delete account page.

Wallet

What can I do with the Credx wallet?

Your wallet has its own account number, so you can receive money into it. You can send money to any Nigerian bank account and see every transaction with a shareable receipt.

Is there a fee to send money?

Any transfer fee is shown on the confirmation screen before you send.

Security

How is my account protected?

Every payment needs your transaction PIN, and you can sign in with Face ID or your fingerprint. You can see and remove the devices signed in to your account, and add a secondary phone number for recovery.

I think someone else is using my account. What should I do?

Use the urgent report option in the app's support section. It goes straight to our team as a security issue. You can also email support@credx.ng.

Employers

What does Credx cost my company?

Nothing. Credx is a staff benefit that costs the employer nothing and needs no payroll changes. See Credx for employers.

Does HR have to do anything?

HR can approve staff requests from the app or the HR dashboard, but it isn't required. Staff can also verify their income with open banking or a bank statement.
